WATER MIST

WATER MIST

M2 and M5 are unique low-pressure water mist nozzles offering optimum droplet size distribution, flow rates and spray coverage. They feature single fluid low pressure atomisation, an anti-vibration design and they have no moving parts for minimal maintenance and maximum reliability. Filters and blow-off caps are provided for protection against blockages.

M2 Low Pressure Water Mist Fire Fighting Nozzle

The GW M2 Nozzles are water mist nozzles for protection of local applications such as in duct systems and engine bilges. The nozzles are suitable for spraying water mist, as well as water mist with foam enhancement. GW Sprinkler recommends the use of Angus Tridol AFFF foam when enhancement is necessary. Nozzles may be installed in the horizontal and pendent vertical positions.

Sprinkler System Water Quality Recommendation

The durability and operational reliability of any automatic sprinkler system is highly dependent on its design for purpose and continued external and internal maintenance & testing.

The real thread and “silent killer” of a pressurized wet sprinkler system is normally invisible to the eye, as it is located inside the pipe work. It is the highly complex interaction between chemical, physical and biological elements in – and in contact with, the sprinkler water.

pdf GW LoFlow K15 model C - R0401165 Royal Navy Full Scale Trials FWS (fine water spray) using GW LoFlow K15 C

This paper documents findings from full scale trials of the system* which included a sensitivity study into the operational limits of the system. The FWS (fine water spray) system reflects that of Defence Standard 02-877: "Requirements for Fine Water Spray Firefighting Systems for Main and Auxiliary Machinery Spaces on Surface Ships"

* The developed system comprises the GW LoFlow K15 model C fine water spray head mounted in a 3m x 3m array and supplied with (sea)water at a nominal pressure of 7 bar dosed with 1% of 6% AFFF concentrate.

GW AIS-135 Water Mist Nozzle (K0,64)

The GW AIS*-135 low pressure water mist nozzle is developed specifically to meet the performance requirements of AIS-135 Fire Detection and Suppression Systems (FDSS) for Buses. The nozzle’s extreme low water consumption makes it ideal for smaller stand-alone systems with limited water capacity – and applications where wetting must be kept at a minimum.
